After the villagers began to build the tower, Kayla left them and returned to the boatman. She would like to ask for his help to cross the river again. This time, Kayla was looking around as they crossed the river to count how many boats that stand by around the riverside, or so she tried.

There are around 1 bigger boat and 5 smaller boats.

"Mr. Boatman, is there any faster means to cross this river, aside of making a bridge, using a bigger ship, or...using magic?" Kayla asked. "And how many people this boat can take at once?"

The small boat can handle 4 people safely, or a horse. The larger can handle some horses or a dozen of people. He could not answer a faster method than bridge, bigger ship, or magic.

Upon arriving to the stronghold's side of river, Kayla thanked the boatman as she disembark from the boat.
She looked back at the other side of river, to make sure again how clear was the view from this side to there. Shortly after, she walked toward the loghouse.

Around the log house, Kayla can see several lumberjacks are working on tree logs using saw to make some planks. There are also some villagers who helped the lumberjacks.

Kayla approached the lumberjacks while observing the condition of the log house. She walked slowly, hoping that her presence would not disturb their activities too much.

As usual, anyone spotted Kayla soon paused their work, and bow to Kayla.

"Please rise and continue your work."
Kayla took a look around the log house.
"How are things went here?" she asked when they began working again.

They explained that if a sawmill is built, wood planks productions would increase tremendously, and the tree logs can be easily divided into planks. This way, the tree chopped would also lessen. Building houses etc with logs costed many trees; unlike constructions using planks.

"Oh? Is that so? Then, is there something that prevented you from building that...sawmill?"

To build a sawmill facility means less wood will go to other facilities, and can stall constructions for a week. And some of the lumberjacks are helping with the alchemist too, while the others have their hands full on patrol and preparing food.

"Is there any other way to quicken the construction process for that sawmill?"

If the people working on the farm can be used as well, it might take only two to three days; however it will risk the farming on spring and the fate of the livestocks.

"I see. The risk is too high. Perhaps I should look for any other way around."
"Aside from the sawmill and several people taken by the alchemist, is there any other problem here?"
