Kayla looked around again, to guess whether this area had been guarded or assigned with patrol group, aside from those who were stationed at the Hydra Forest, which was several days away from this riverside, if she remembered correctly.

Kayla spotted that the 5 villagers here are also equipped with shield and wooden javelins. One of them have a makeshift hunting bow with arrows. Kayla also remembered that these 5 villagers are often practicing together as militia.
Other than that, this place has no camp or small outpost for patrols.

Kayla approached those villagers while keep observing around, especially the boat that was still under construction.

The boat seemed larger than a row boat, and could be used by several fishermen to catch fishes on the river using net.

Kayla proceeded to approach the 5 villagers.
"How are things went over here?" she asked upon reaching their place.

The villagers bow and continue their work, while explaining that everything is going well; some of the militia decided to use their spare time to prepare fishing boats and build huts for fishermen; others already use makeshift fishing rods and nets to catch fishes. After the river became clear and clean, many fishes came.

"Is it only five of you who always crossed the river to build these two huts and that boat over there?" asked Kayla while looking around again.
"And all of you always do this after the morning practice?" she added.

They explained that there are 5 other militias who spend their free time here; but the others are on duty patrolling now.

They explained that some of the militias enjoyed fishing, so they begin a non-formal club. They then pooled up their share of daily food rations to the lumberjacks for woods, while some others gathered wood at the forest by themselves. When the paladin started to build the boats, they readily helped since they prefer to fish from this side of the river. This side of river is much calmer than near Eltur Guard, and there are more fishes around.

"I take so far there was yet any more sign of threat around here, was it?"

They answered that there are no significant threat from the perimeter, but they have not checked the east or west area, from this spot to the Hydra Camp. However if there is something happened in Hydra Camp, the team patrolling would recognized smoke signals, but only on clear weather.

Kayla went to silent after hearing their explanation about the signal. She looked over at the stronghold's side again to know how clear she would able to see what was around the stronghold, and how many people who could be seen near that side of river.
And then, she looked at the villagers again.
"Would it be faster if we crossed the river with that kind of boat?" she asked while pointing at the unfinished boat.
